This is an excellently produced product and is packaged superbly. If your idea of TV heaven is watching restaurant owners in high definition, describe the history of their own establishment in the context of the Mother Road, then flash your cash immediately. But as important as the people are who make Route 66 what it is, better use of the HD would have been to show more of Route 66 and what travellers can see as they pass by - HD really is for outdoors not indoors. Also there are glaring ommissions - Meteor Crater - where is it? Not a mention! How about Joe and Aggie's Cafe in Holbrook? Again not a mention. And no mention of which sections of present Route 66 are on the Interstate and which on the original alignment, why? And why so many establishing (in High Definition) shots of the bus arriving at an anonymous location? Perhaps my opinions show why I travel independantly instead of on a bus tour - this DVD is like a bus tour of Route 66, while I would prefer my own independant travel plan. My highlights however were the story of La Pasada in Winslow, AZ and a few bit in Illinois. Low points were far too few sites in Texas or New Mexico, and the mention that the Grand Canyon is 'just off' Route 66 - check the map before planning that trip!
