The player also features a Dolby 5.1 surround sound decoder for superb sound quality.

The user manual is very easy to understand and gives you clear guidance on which audio/video setup gives the best results. The full-function remote control allows you to access all of the player's options/features including zoom, multi-angle, volume up/down as well as all the standard DVD playback controls. Around the back of the player you'll find a vast array of video/audio connections including component, S-video and SCART for video as well as coaxial and optical sockets for audio.

    I ordered this item as a Christmas gift, and only saw the two negative reviews once I had the DVD player. I decided to plug it in and check it out... My machine, given the fact it was only £20 is an absolute bargain. The manual is not very well worded, and there are a lot of options which are not well explained. The split screen issues mentioned in another review are probably because of an accidental selection of a PSCAN video output mode (by selecting a button on the remote by mistake).

    I checked and the unit played back both region 1 and region 2 discs. It also seems to support MP3 files on CD-ROM, as well as video CD's.

    My only negative is that the picture suffers a bit from a background ripple effect - probably due to cheaply designed power supply filtering. But if you've got this player hooked up to a portable TV, e.g. in a bedroom it's not going to be noticeable.

    A recommended buy.

    This DVD Player is one of those 'does exactly what it says on the tin' units.

    For the price I paid, it was excellent - afterall, you don't expect a top of the range DVD player for this price. Overall it was a great buy and excellent value for money.

    ...and i meen thanks! the Inventive 5.1 DVD-330 DVD Player is the best!I saw it for £19.99 and thought well I hope it works.When it arrived I tried it out - 1 word - fabulous...way better than I had expected...the picture was great (after i'd read some of the other reviews)...in fact I can think of no faults.Looks good, sounds good too and can play more 'types' of DVD than I thought it would...so all in all a must have buy if you're after a cheap DVD player (actaualy I'd say it is better than a more expensive one i'd bought previously)
