Another brilliant track from the Sunderland lads. Like every Futureheads song, Area kicks you in the face! It provides great lyrics about security and modern day life in a thug ridden area (well thats what i think hehe!)Its has great vocals and overall sounds great. If you haven't heard it then your definatly missing out. Its well canny!

I'd expect the Futureheads have a banner hung in their recording studio. In bold print it probably reads "NO REPETITION", because much like their ace debut album the new ace single "Area" is a song mostly built up of a pile of intrictate ideas, few of which are repeated more than once in its brief running time.

The arrangements remain compex and the harmonies random. Everything is still delivered in their frenetic, abrrupt style. The Futureheads at the moment just sound an extremely exciting band. The Rakes, for example, might have better image, but as players and songwriters they can't match songs like this.

The Futureheads have once again knocked out some fine tune-age here. The song Area itself is absolutely great, all of the band involved in the 'O o' vocals again, which defines the futureheads sound. Choppy, cheery and exactly what all us Futureheads-heads expect from the band. Its great and definately a great EP to throw in whilst they settle down to a second album.
