4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as 'Gather in the mushrooms' but still OK, 10 Jan 2007
A few stand out tracks. But just to clear up that there seem to be x2 versions of this CD. the on I have varies from the track listing above as it does not have:

1. Lord Of The Reedy River - Donovan (1)
15. Salisbury Plain - Green Man
16. All In A Dream - Tilston, Steve
18. Twelve Hours Of Sunset - Harper, Roy

But does include:

6. Peacock Lady - Shelagh Mcdonald
7. Harvest Time - Water into Wine Band

4.0 out of 5 stars Confusion, 14 Oct 2008

Re the comments elsewhere; the 2008 edition does include:

1. Lord Of The Reedy River - Donovan (1)
15. Salisbury Plain - Green Man
16. All In A Dream - Tilston, Steve
18. Twelve Hours Of Sunset - Harper, Roy

This is easily the best version because the tracks above take into account the 'rock' end of folk. The 2006 edition omits these but does have:

But does include:

6. Peacock Lady - Shelagh Mcdonald
7. Harvest Time - Water into Wine Band

The latter of which is a rustic delight with a string section.

The problem with ordering is that most one click orders might leave you with the older, and poorer, version of the album. Then again, if you ordered it in a shop and spoke to them about the different versions.....sorted!

3.0 out of 5 stars slightly disappointing, 17 May 2006

It's been a long wait for this much delayed follow up to the absolutely essential Gather In The Mushrooms. Several of the artists listed in the track listing do not appear including Donovan and Roy Harper. The overall tone is rather similar throughout and real stand outs are few. I do like the Mellow Candle track however. A qualified recommendation!

As others have pointed out, the track list above is just wrong - use the back sleeve photo instead. Much more of a straight folk compilation than 'Gather in the Mushrooms', this... Read more
