Samantha Morton shines in this drama series about the lives of 5 prostitutes. Series one has been available on VHS and DVD but the far superior and much more shocking series two was never released. Definitely worth watching especially the second series but watching from one to three is well worth the effort.

WOW they have finally released the FULL collection of "Band Of Gold" including Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 which were called "GOLD" this collection is a Must!!! for those who are a Fab of this Drama Series, It brings back alot of memorys when you put it in the dvd machine :) Buy it while its still on special offer, I did :)

Those of you that love Bad Girls will love Band Of Gold

i have waited from 1995/96 when the whole of the three series of band of gold was shown, until now for them all to be released on dvd. band of gold is fantastic. kay mellor who wrote this and many other brilliant drama,s is at her best writing for this hard hitting three part series. if this was a book it would be un put down able. the caracters are very real. the story line has every thing to grip you... murder, mystery, heart ache and humour. fantastic acting. fast moving and exciting plot. what more could you want? if you are a fan of things like bad girls, prisoners cell block H and Fat friends (also by Kay Mellor)then you are in for a real treat. realistic women who are far from "perfect" yet very true to life. some times you see things on telly years ago and you think they were great at the time, then you watch them again ten years later and they seem rubbish and dated. this i am glad to say did not happend with band of gold. it was still riveting stuff and well worth the money. an absolute corker. would recomend 110 %. i just carn,t under stand why it wasn,t released sooner!
