Second English-language studio album from Colombian-born artist Shakira. This is the follow-up to her 2001 debut 'Laundry Service' and again sees her fuse South American pop with a traditional dance sound. The album features renditions of 'En Tus Pupilas' and 'Dia Especial' which were previously released in her native tongue. Written and produced by Shakira, the recording also includes a collaboration with Carlos Santana on the track 'Illegal'.

Dont worry! go to shakira.com if you purchased this album without the hips dont lie single and you can download it for free!

I bought both vol 1 and vol 2 shakira albums when I was in Buenos Aires and they are both fantastic! I recommend the spanish album (vol 1) as I think she sings better in her native language.

I was very disappointed to find out only when I recieved the album that is does not include the incredible Hips Don't Lie. But other than that it is an incredible CD! Fell instantly in love with the other tracks.

I love Shakira's music; like a lot of people outside of S. America I first heard Shakira with releases from 'Laundry Service' (...which my dad introduced me to, heh). She has a great ability to mix so many different sounds and styles, and I love her lyrics; she says stuff that's just that little bit different... Eg "You used to say I should see a doctor who would keep me busy, cos a jealous woman never makes it easy" [Rules]. And the same applies in this album; when I first listened to the album I was hit with 'How Do You Do' - gotta say, it was late and I got freaked by the chanting at first - but you listen and it's just so different and great!
I also love her unique voice; I think that's indisputable. In Spanish and English I like her style as she has great writing ability in both; if you really like her wait to buy or pre-order the special edition of this album with 'Hips Don't Lie', and check out her other stuff.
