The DVD's sound lacked the crispness and range that one would expect from a relatively recent audio recording. Even on DTS 5.1 this DVD sounded as though it had been recorded through cotton wool.

On balance, I would not recommend this to anyone other than the most diehard of fans. Even then, it may be worth waiting until it appears in the bargain bin.

I'm sure that this would have been a great concert to have been at.

Unfortunately, the DVD doesn't appear to do it justice. I've no complaints about the picture, but the sound is really rather poor. In particular, the vocals are lost in the depths of the (somewhat muddy) mix. And for a band like the Beautiful South - for whom the lyrics are absolutely vital - that's nothing short of disastrous.

I was at this gig in the middle of dalby forest. The weather was perfect, the beer was cold, the band were on top form. This was about the 20th time I had seen the south live, and they just keep getting better. I took 3 mates with me and we had a great day out. If this captures the atmosphere and the 4 of us dancing like loons, then its worth double the price.
