1.0 out of 5 stars Great gift ... for your opponents!, 3 Feb 2006
This review is from: Learn How Poker Academy [DVD] (DVD)
Yes, this has to be the worst poker DVD I've watched. Its coverage of the basics is patchy and, even then, there's little depth. Your money would be much better spent on a book (Sklansky, Brunson, Hellmuth, etc.).

If you have wasted your money buying this, however, you can always give it to your (novice) opponents, safe in the knowledge that they will be armed with little useful information when you next face them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont even bother!, 28 Jan 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Learn How Poker Academy [DVD] (DVD)
I brought this dvd with high expectations, unfortunately they were totally unfounded - Although well produced all this dvd will teach you is the very basic basics of poker and nothing more! I watched it through once and then gave it away.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst poker skills I have ever seen, 22 Jan 2006
By Twiss (England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Learn How Poker Academy [DVD] (DVD)
This is an absolute joke. You would never win anything using these tactics. Let me tell you if this guy is so good he is banned from all casinos then I think I will win the world series because I would wipe the floor with him. All in all this is very poor, all it tells you are the basics (which you will already know if you are a player).
Save your money for the books written by the real pro's or even better bet the money of this dvd in a tournament. This is for extreme beginners only no use for someone who seriously wants to win. You will get destroyed if you play like these guys! haha

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun for what it is
It must be remembered that this is a film purely for learning the basics. Don't think that by watching this you will be ready to hit the big time. Read more
