At This Time is something of a strange yet exciting project for one of the most accomplished songwriters in pop’s history. For this album he has worked with a variety of latter day talents such as The Black Eyed Peas, Elvis Costello, Chris Botti and Rufus Wainwright. However, the most intriguing songs are with the man behind Eminem and NWA, the legendary Dr Dre, who has collaborated with Bacharach on three of the tunes.

This is truly a classic CD. The lyrics are both poignant and provoking. Well worth waiting for.

Burt didnt need to make this music.......he doesnt need the money , he doesnt need his reputation enhancing after all he is one of most respected song writers of the 20th century.
But Burt at age 77 decided to comment on the state of play in the world. Burt is a dissapointed man let down by the politics of profit... the optimistic world of the 1960s that failed to blossom and deliver....jeez Im cheesed off too!!!...... He still writes a great tune though, buy it and enjoy.

I rushed to buy this on the day of release. The thought of an old master like Burt Bacharach releasing brand new material with such exciting collaborations as Rufus Wainwright, Dr Dre and Elvis Costello had me geared up for a piece of musical magic. Instead I found an album of background dinner party soft jazz. Almost all the tracks merge into each other and none of them really stand out as being anything special. Good for dinner parties, hot baths and general background restaurant music.
