5.0 out of 5 stars The best ever, 6 Feb 2006

    (REAL NAME)
I have just bought this camera with 2 lenses and I am absolotely stunned by the quality of this product. In the past I have owned Olympus, Canon, Pentax and Fuji cameras and this camera has taken things to a new level. The ease of use, the quality of build and results are second to none. Coupled with the ridiculuously low price I cannot see why this camera would not be at the top of anyone's list. The current brand dominance of Canon and Nikon is hard to understand given the quality of other brands and while people new to photography may not be familiar with all manufacturers some of us were brought up with Minolta as a market leader.

I cannot understand why Minolta are pulling out of the camera market but I am hoping to get some bargain accessories in the future. Perhaps even another camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent value, 27 Oct 2005
Well, I had to choose between this or the canon 350D.

I chose the KM because of the Antishake feature, since I intend taking a lot of tele shots.

The image quality is fantastic when compared with the pentax *ist or nikon d50/70 cameras and about on a par with the canon.

The supplied lens in the kit is nice too.

The camera is surprisingly responsive (I owned a FZ10 before this and it was positiviely sluggish in comparison). No detectable shutter lag, and a solid snap of the mirror to let you, know you're taking a picture :)

The handling is excellent, the only gripe being the depth of field preview is hard to get to.

Build quality is fantastic, and certainly the camera feels much more robust than the canon.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Super!, 20 Mar 2006
By Ell (UK) - See all my reviews
I've recently bought this camera - along with a second lens. Absolutely FAB! I too (like the other reviewer) have had cameras by other manufacturers but this is outstanding, especially at the price. I also have a Konica compact which has been fantastic - exceptional colour reproduction, and this follows in that field too.

Lots of features, well built (somewhat better than the two other "well-known" cameras I looked at), and I'm looking forward to many years use.

It's sad that Konica Minolta are pulling out of the camera market, but I believe that Sony will handle that business now, so here's hoping for some Zeiss lenses maybe!?!? :)

A good buy - years of research have gone into their Anti-shake technology, and it shows. Excellent all round and a great price!
