This will become a classic, 17 Nov 2005

This album contains Will's best work to date. It is energetic, mature, honest and lyrically stunning. It has everything you could imagine - motivating tracks in Keep On, Think it Over and Think About it. It has the exciting lead single Switch it On, alongside the funky masterpiece 'Ain't Such a Bad Place to Be' - both of which have a loudness and attitude that is unrivalled by anything else in the charts at the moment. There is plenty to think about on this album - there is not a single 'filler' on there. All I Want is very different to any of Will's previous work, serving to show other dimensions to his stunning vocal range. Intermingled with the upbeat tracks, are some truly beautiful ballads and intimate lyrics. All Time Love is haunting and the simple melody allows the beautiful vocals to really shine through, and let you understand what the song is all about. Save Yourself is pleading and slightly despairing, while Who Am I is a totally modern romantic track which is ultimately positive. In the middle of the album is the summery 'Happiness' which is uplifting and light hearted. Less light hearted, but lyrically fascinating is 'Madness' which is performed calmly but you get the impression there is a frustration and anger behind it - a genius piece of work. The closing track of the album, Home, is arguably the best song that he has written or performed to date. It's not an overstatement to say it is a classic. The whole piece is moving, dark and totally original. It is demanding to listen to and there's no cosy finish to the piece - and that makes you want to listen to it all over again. Keep On is an inspirational adventure - there isn't one style to describe it - and that, along with beautiful vocals, fantastic and raw musical arrangements, and intelligent lyrics, is the attraction in this 3rd album from the multi talented Mr Young.

Will will 'Keep On', 15 Aug 2006
This is a brilliant third album. His albums are getting more and more mature and far from the poppy stuff he was expected to push out after pop idol. I think many people are genuinely surprised how good and individual he has become. All the songs are different and he not only has a soully character to his voice he sings with soul too. Home, Ain't such a bad place to be, Think About it and Think it over are particulary brilliant. Will will be there in years to come with the Madonnas, Robbies and Georges of the world as he is a one off.

Not what you might expect!, 15 Nov 2005

I've had a sneak preview of this album and was very impressed. There's not a bad song on the album, which is fresh, imspired and very diverse. If you like the current single Switch It On, have a listen to Keep On, Think About It and All I Want; they all have a similar hard edged sound with a funky, electro feel to them. For the more traditional listeners there are some stonking ballads, such as Who Am I and All Time Love, which is predicted to be the next single, released just in time for Valentines Day. Personally, the stand out track for me is Home. I believe this was written by Mr Young and Nitin Sawhney, and it's a very brave move. The lyrics are painfully honest, about a love affair that had to end, but the composition is like nothing I've heard before. There's a floaty ethnic influence, mixed in with celtic pipes and a clear, haunting vocal. Worth the price of the album for this song alone, I'd say! If you've always thought you'd rather eat your right arm than listen to a Will Young album, give this one a try, you might just change your mind!
