Product Description

Album Description

A fully-remastered release of Queen’s eternal and essential album. Over 30 years after its original release, A Night At The Opera remains a fascinating and essential record, from a powerhouse group at the very top of their game.

CD Description

Originally released in 1975 'A Night At The Opera' was arguably Queen's crowning moment and to celebrate it's 30th anniversary the album has been carefully remastered. Queen took elements from their first three studio albums and brought them all together in this mix of pop, prog-rock, metal, and hard rock which culminates in possibly one of the most influential Queen songs ever 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Michael Broadbent told me about this., 10 Jan 2008
By Mr. N. J. B. (England U.K.) - See all my reviews
I know, you get told a record is good by someone who you wouldn't normally trust to tie their own shoelaces, and guess what, it turns out that not only is their recommendation sound but that they wear shoes with a velcro fastening in to the bargain.

Michael Broadbent has a favourite on this album, Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, and although my favourite is another choice, I have to say that the porky old work colleague has not led me astray with this record.

Im waiting now for another choice from Mickey Shrek Broadbent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvel at Classic Queen!, 25 April 2007
By Keenbean "PKPK" (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Obviously the biggest thing to mention on this CD is Bohemian Rhapsody, but apart from that, this album on the whole is fantastic! The album moves as one long song and constantly changes mood and tempo from fast paced rock like Death on Two Legs to great guitar tracks like '39 and brilliant inventiveness like seaside rendevouz! This album is Queen and their revolutinary best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy This One At Amazon.com USA or Germany!, 5 Jun 2007

(TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
It's been well over thirty years since this album came out and I finally bought it for its surround mix. I've been missing out on a lot of fantastic music. This album is extraordinary in its own merit, but add the surround mix and you understand what "Queen" really was all about - the entire experience! Sure, "You're My Best Friend" was a really nice song and "Bohemian Rhapsody" defined an entire generation, but hearing it as it was pieced together in one collage of a musical experience and you'll understand what the big fuss is all about.

Capitol Records remixed the 5.1 mix (kudos to Ric Wilson and Jeff Levison along with the entire team). Each and every instrument and vocal is separated and cleaned up to appear from various places around your room. Forget about headphones - get the `feel'. There simply is no `best' song on this album. Every song is its own masterpiece, but I am partial to the anthemic, "'39". God Save the Queen!

Also, includes "Bohemian Rhapsody" video, lyrics and photo album.
