1.0 out of 5 stars Company has moved away from it's strength, 11 Jun 2006
Oh Dear! For the past 5 years Nero has been the defacto standard in copying and burning software media. If a download wasn't avaiable in .iso format then it was in Neros NRG format. It was a compulsory piece of software for any computer but that has now come to an end, with Nero 6 the last definitive version.

Nero 7 tries to convert old versions of windows into the latest Windows Media Centre edition and it fails miserable. There are hundreds of bugs, many parts of the software are limited and the initial purchase requires further investment to purchase licenses to carry on using the software that you thought you had already paid for. Lots of work necessary for Nero 8 but buying individual programs are probably always going to be the best option.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pay Pay Pay - to use this product, 14 Mar 2006
By A Customer
Beware this product! I wish I had seen these reviews before I spent my cash on this. First time I used the MP3 CD copy it works once & then says you have to buy an add on license. This costs £14 extra, having spent £30 I thought best to buy this add on, only to find now that I need further add ons & it doesn't do WMA files!!!
This is the best example yet of a product 'not doing what it says on the tin'

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, 6 Feb 2006
By T. Bradley "trollslayer3" (Midlands, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've been a fan of Nero since I bought my first PC 5 or so years ago. I've been using Nero 6 since it's release and kept it updated and I didn't feel the need to buy version 7 since I was getting good results. What a wise decision!
A friend of mine bought Nero 7 Premium and couldn't get it to install or work right and after seeing it on his system I figured I'd try it on mine to see if it was just his machine (or his error). I uninstalled Nero 6 and installed his Nero 7. InCD would not install, not even after using repair or modify. Some of Nero express works perfectly, Data DVD's burn without error. Try to run Nero Burning Rom and the whole thing crashes. I've reinstalled several times, I've downloaded the 100MB "update" from Nero (which then shows as a DEMO) but nothing will make this program work the way it should.
In the end I reinstalled my Nero 6 Ultra + updates and that works exactly as it should, every function does it's job.
I love Nero 6 but Nero 7 is a disgrace.
I'm sure some will say it's just my system but look around at how many others are having the same problems. Can you be sure it'll run on yours? I wouldn't risk it!
