This is a lovely camera even for me a beginner as I found it easy enough to use and find my way around the menus. I have only had it a couple of days so I am still finding out. It is really small and compact and fits into the palm of my hand. It does not have a viewfinder but has a lovely big screen. If anyone is thinking of buying from Pixmania, this is a french company and all instructions with the camera comes in french only - they do not tell you this. I had to call about 4 times to Paris to get a copy of an english manuel (photocopy) sent to me.

I have found this to be an excellent camera, its small, light and extremely easy to use. It has a setting for just about every type of photo you could ever want to take (even your pets)but the settings are clearly labeled and easy to change- unlike some cameras I have used.
The only problem I have found is the movie setting- the picture and sound quality in this setting are VERY poor and certainly not upto the standard of my last camera.
So if you want to take photo's- this is an excellent choice, if you want to take movie clips as well- go with another model

I won this camera a few months ago, and was wondering whether to sell because I owned several other digital cameras with higher optical zoom. How glad I am that I didn't. It has wonderful all round picture capabilities, and the video footage was good although the sound quality could be better. I used it at a steam rally which isn't altogether the best sound anyway and lots of people talking along with the engine noises. A slight draw back is that the shutter has to be held continuously when shooting video, and I haven't found a setting that can alter this, but maybe there is one I don't know.
All the shots have produced excellent results and can be blown up to an impressive size. The flower/macro function and sports settings proved to bring the camera into it's own and it is well worth it's money. I haven't been disappointed yet.
