Well I know this is totally in contrast with other customer reviews but... I bought this with hopes of finding a really good basketball game, and after reading many of the reviews on this site I was convinced that this seemed to be the best offering on the market. It really did not live up to that expectation!

Now I don't claim to know much about basketball or the NBA, but I do play an awful lot of Playstation and I really had a problem with many aspects of this game, mainly the key game mode 24/7: Road to the EBC. I found it so frustrating and really slow in its progression, but not in a challenging way that would add to game durability, but instead it was repetitive in its tasks and became very boring very quickly. Also the create-a-player options are a joke. A JOKE!

I also think the controls could have been a bit easier, which would have allowed for a much smoother game play, as I found it rather confusing on the court and it felt as though I didn't have as much control as I would have liked.

Basically, I found this game really quite disappointing, and would just have liked a review that might have told me that if you're thinking of purchasing a basketball game with little to no knowledge of the sport, and you have nothing other than a keen interest in finding a good fun basketball game to play, then EA or one of the other various titles most likely has more to offer.

Amazing, I've been a fan of the series since the 2k3 and the last version I bought was 2K4 so this upgrade has serious improvement value.

Soundtrack is amazing, street mode and franchise incredible, animation so real. Dwyane Wade is 'Dwayne Wade', Kobe pulls up at every opportunity, Shaq will post you up and leave you weeping, try blocking Duncan's floaters in the paint, or box out Nowitzki at the elbow.

Now with street legends, made up but with a real authentic feel. The shot stick is a graet addition, take s a while to get used to as I'm used to the older format but ut brings a realness to your drives, steals and dunks

Amazing value, retro uniforms, the new crib, mini games and trophy cabinets. Amazing, absolutely amazing!!

how can you argue with me? this game is too good to be true. ive got it on the 360 and all i have to say is WOW! ok the graphics are amazing but thats only because its on the xbox 360 but im sure it will be near to as good pn the ps2. the gameplay is fabulous with new modes.

everyone has to agree with me in saying that you got bored with the nba live and 2k games. all it was was pure basketball with none of the extras that nba street gave. although there arent that many changes to moves and tricks but the mini modes are great and the career mode is waaaaaay more intresting.

this game is a must buy for those of you who have a ps2, dont want to go to microsoft because your going to get a ps3 which i hope you do and for those who love pure basketball with a bit of extra in it!
