This game is truly excellent, every part of every player can get in the way or reguide the puck including the stick, and it is little factors like this that allows this game to be so realistic.

Manually controlling the goalie is an excellent experience that works very well, flicking the right stick different directions makes the goalie dive/skate in different ways it feels very smooth and is best experienced in shoot outs.

The problem with the game crashing is no problem at all, as the other reviewer said you just simply simulate that match and enjoy the rest of the season with on the fly coaching, manual goalkeeping, fantastic commentary and the great new pro control.

Unlike NHL 06, 2K6 has players of a realistic size as appossed to EA's Version making any star players stupidly large and so therefore allows 2K6 to appear (and not just play) more realistic. Im not saying its better than NHL 06 but does have its advantages.

There are tons of unlockables; Uniforms, teams, wierd extras (such as big heads) and rinks (the rinks being the weakest unlockable as there is little variation when actually playing in one of the unlocked rinks). Its a great game, A must-buy for ice hockeys fans and a must-try for anyone else.

Try simulating the single match it crashes on. Mine crashed on 1 game so i simulated it and carried on with my Franchise.

Now, I'm a fan of ice-hockey The Game play is fantastic. If you don't know anything about Ice-hockey but want a Ice-hockey game
All in all t's a fantastic game and I'm never off it... can't wait to see the graphics on PS3, IT WILL BE AWSOME.

NHL 2k6 boasts the best gameplay there is. However, there's one fatal flaw and if you go to the game developer's forums (2ksports.com/forums) you can see XBOX 360 users complaining about it. The Franchise mode (basically a multi-season game mode) has a fatal crash bug, which causes the game to crash after playing a few games. I played one game before the bug striked and I tried everything but it always crashes at the same point no matter what I did. I am now very annoyed and don't understand why 2ksports did not fix this before the release. The XBOX 360 version came out in Nov 2005 and they had 4 months to fix this! Seems to me that they are just too happy to rip money off us. I'm going to write to 2ksports and hope to get my money back, but it doesn't seem likely.
