The Kuijken String Quartet has been in existence for almost 20 years, and has dedicated itself to the interpretation of the music of Haydn and Mozart. All the members of the group are recognised as soloists in their own right on the international stage and the quartet has toured the world on several occasions.
The Kuijken brothers, Sigiswald and Weiland, have themselves been pioneers in the world of early music performance over the last few decades, and have produced many acclaimed discs for the likes of Deutches Harmonia Mundi during this period. This hybrid SACD recording incorporates three eminent artists as soloists for each of the three works presented, Lorenzo Coppola in the Clarinet Quintet, Pierre-Yves Madeuf in the Horn Quintet, and Patrick Beaugiraud in the Oboe Quartet.
Personnel:
Sigiswald Kuijken, Francois Fernandez - (Violin), Marleen Thiers - (Viola), Wieland Kuijken - (Cello), Lorenzo Coppola - (Clarinet), Pierre-Yves Madeuf - (Horn), Patrick Beaugiraud - (Oboe)
