'PCD' is the debut album from pop culture phenomenon Pussycat Dolls. Featuring a string of high-calibre producers (Timbaland, Wil.i.am and Siobhan Fahey), the album is a playful mix of r&b and dance-pop, with its sights firmly set on the dancefloor. Includes the single 'Don't Cha'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Pop Album with a hint of RnB/Hip-Hop, 17 Nov 2005
By Ms. Laura Varney "janevok" (Eastbourne, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I hesitated when I bought this album, but I am very glad I took a chance on it. It's brilliant, most of the tracks are very upbeat with wait a minute, beep and bite the dust being very catchy. There are a couple of covers sway and tainted love but don't let that put your off, even the slow songs are well worth listening to.If you like pop music with a hint of Rnb/Hip-Hop and guest rappers then this is the album for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous, 18 Oct 2005
I had no intention of purchasing this album at first until I was recommended it by a friend, and I've not stopped listening to it since! Fantastic debut, 'Don't cha' is still as addictive as it was when it was first released, although the single version with the rap is better than this one. There's a mix of pop (Hot Stuff (Want You Back) must be released as a single; it's fantastic, and one of the highlights); ballads ('Stickwitu' is a sure fire Number. 1 in the States if not in the UK), and my favourite, the R&B track, 'Beep', which will hopefully be a future single... fingers crossed. Latino style, 'Sway' is also a highlight.

So there's something for everyone here, and it's certainly one of the best albums 've bought in a long time!

Great stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fab debut from the Dolls, 4 Nov 2005
The Pussycat Dolls were hyped up to be the next big thing, and when they burst onto the music scene earlier this year, they had a lot to live up to. Their first single went straight to the top of the charts in September, and is now one of the most recognisable songs of the year. The album is an eclectic mix of styles, encompassing r'n'b, rap, hip-hop, dance, soul, and even latino music. Here is a track by track rating:

1. Don't Cha - The first single taken from the album is a shout out to all the girls out there. It went straight in at number 1, stayed there for three weeks, and deservedly so. It's a catchy, funky track. 9/10

2. Beep - This is a hip-hop/electro track. The lyrics are cheeky and the beat is great. It's a collaboration with . Maybe a future single? 8/10

3. Wait A Minute - Not really feeling this one. I don't think it's up to the standard of the rest of the album. It's not too bad thought. It features Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas. 6/10

4. Stickwitu - Stupid title, but a great song. The forthcoming single, and I think it's a really sweet heartfelt song, but there are stronger songs on the album. 8/10

5. Buttons - This track is great! A nice Asian backing track with sensual lyrics from the Dolls. It would be a good choice for a single. 9/10

6. I Don't Need A Man - A girl power song, quite similar to Crazy In Love by Beyoncé. Great beat, great lyrics, one of the album's highlights. 9/10

7. Hot Stuff (Want You Back) - Best track on the album. I'm praying they release this as I'm sure they would have a big hit. It's a disco-tastic track that covers Donna Summer, but with a twist. 10/10

8. How Many Times, How Many Lies - A slower track, quite sad really. Not up with rest of the tracks and feels a bit like filler. 7/10

9. Bite The Dust - Loving this track! It's packed with attitude, and a great bite. It's about another woman stealing your man. Possible single. 9/10

10. Right Now - This is a jazzy little number, at just over 2.20 it's the shortest track on the album but it's good. Not what you'd expect the Dolls to do though. 7/10

11. Tainted Love - This is a bizarre track, after about 2 minutes it changes to Where Did Our Love Go. Two classic tracks, both perfomed really well by the Dolls. One of the highlights of the album. 9/10

12. Feelin' Good - Now I really love the original of this song. This version isn't as good, and I think Nicole oversings some parts of it. Plus it drags on unnecessarily at the end. Not bad though. 7/10

13. Sway - Apparently this track is from the soundtrack of Save The Last Dance. Having not seen that film, I can't say if that's true. It's a good song though, but not the best on the CD. 7/10

14. We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going - A faster track, quite funky. Not a highlight but a good song. Apparently it's from the soundtrack of Shark Tale. Didn't notice it there but I think it's a good song. 8/10

Overall this is a very good debut album. I do have a very varied taste in music. I wouldn't have called myself a hip-hop fan before, but this album changed my perspective. Well done to the Pussycat Dolls, and roll on the second album!!!!!!!!!
