This early film from Ingmar Bergman (Wild Strawberries, Persona) is the tale adapted from a novel by Dagmar Edqvist of a young man's coming to grips with blindness caused by an accident and his attempts to adjust to living a normal life with his handicap. His one desire is to be treated as a normal person. While Music In Darkness is not essential cinema it is still beautifully shot by cinematographer Goran Strindberg who work on several of Bergman's early films and therefore enough reason for any serious film fan to seek it out.

Cast:
Mai Zetterling (Torment,1947; Hidden Agenda,1990)
Bergir Malmsten (Three Strange Loves,1949; To Joy,1949; Summer Interlude,1950)

The transfer is very good as with all of Bergman's film released by Tartan although the soundtrack is not perfect.
