I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this release as i could find very little info on it. Essentially, it's a re-release of the 2 CD box set that came out a few years ago containing Kylie 2 Deconstruction era albums - 'Kylie Minogue' and 'Impossible Princess'. This particular re-release came out about the same time as the Artist Collection DVD re-release, essentially Sony BMG repakaging and re-selling something old for what seems like the 10th time now.

This set comes in a swanky little card slider case (rather than the card box the original release came in) containing the discs from the original UK release of the album and the slider case itself is only the size of one standard CD jewel case so if you're strapped for space on your shelves this works well. But what about the music itself?

Kylie's Deconstruction 'Indie' phase. The media seem to have forgotten about this part of Kylie's musical career due to the fact it wasn't as commercially successful and instead focus on her late 80s and 2000's successes.

This is a right shame as these two albums contain some of Kylie's best work ever. Kylie Minogue '94 is contains what is probably her best vocal work ever - easily shocased on the amazing Confide in Me and Put Yourself In My Place. Very chilled out feeling and lots of great disco beats and funk rhythms - if you like stuff like Jamiroquai this'd be a good one to check out.

And what about Impossible Princess? Well... just amazing! I think along with Madonna's Ray Of Light this is one of my favourite albums ever. All the songs on it were written by Kylie and as such they are all very personal, some like Breathe and Drunk perhaps even a little scary in their intimacy. You need to hear this album, it's as simple as that.

These two-CD sets sets that Sony BMG puts out a really good deal and although you don't get the bonus disc of remixes that comes with the re-released versions of the albums this set is great value for money and although it doesn't present anything new, it's another nice addition for Kylie collectors.
