Wow, what an album. Being a big fan of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds I had to get the album as soon as it came out here in Ireland....and it's brilliant! Mick mostly covers original songs but makes them his own. So different compared to the Bad Seeds but their influence on this album is undeniable. At the same time Mick Harvey's unique style is absolutely haunting and beautiful. Overall, a fantastic album. Mick did what Johnny Cash did to some wonderful Indie rock songs during his last albums on American Recordings........making the songs his own.

My favourite songs on the album:
- Come On Spring
- First St. Blues
- Come Into My Sleep
- Hank Williams Said It Best
- Will You Surrender?
- The River
