5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant, and it works, 8 April 2006
I was becoming a couch potato and had tried exercise machines and got bored after a couple of weeks. I knew that to keep exercising I needed something to keep my interest. This game is great. I completed the first 12 week program and am on to the next now. I love it and cant wait for my husband to go out so that I can use it. It has warm ups and cool downs. It designs a program based on your current fitness level and age and weight and your personal trainer keeps you going. If you miss it tells you off. If you do well you are praised, and you do different game/exercises each time. The exercises cover aerobic, combat (muscle toning), specific area toning and mind and body such as tai chi type exercises but also meditation and yoga.
Saying this it does have some flaws. The lighting has to be good. I have a security light which I use on an evening. Daytime is better. Also you do need to have enough room to swing a cat. The lens allows you to be a bit nearer than normal but you still need to be able to stand far enough away.
If you miss the final exercise it will not set you a follow on program (I changed the date of my consol so that I could finish).
But I have to say I have never stuck to exercise for 3m before and I feel a hundred times better than I did. So give it a go. If nothing else your family/friends will be in fits of laughter watching each other do the exercises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, can't wait to buy the next one, 30 Mar 2006
By A Customer
I've just finished the 12 week program. It was great, definitely the most fun I've had keeping fit. I really enjoyed most of the games and that made it easy to do so much exercise. I kept my gym membership but didn't use it once during my 12 week program.

But there were some problems:
- you're expected to do 5 routines a week towards the end, this is hard to fit into anyone's schedule.
- light is a problem, I had to rearrange my lighting, put a white sheet on my dark furniture and dress up in head to toe black to get the eyetoy to correctly recognise my movements.
- there seems to be a bit of a problem with level progression. I started off on easy, progressed in some games to medium and then was demoted back to easy despite the fact that my scores kept increasing and were nearly always 100% towards the end.

Overall I thought it was an excellent first product, definitely worth the money and I hope that Sony goes on to develop something more advanced. Recording progress in real fitness terms (weight, heart rate etc) would be great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!!!, 30 Sep 2005
I have just purchased this game and cant get enough of it! If you're the sort of person who finds gym's boring then this game is for you.
Kinetic allows you to have fun and get fit at the same time! There are plenty different scenarios/games to choose from so every time is different!

I can't recommend this enough! I'm sure it will change the future of home fitness!
