Why? Why on earth would anyone want to buy a hard drive this big? Your computer's hard drive is 60Gb, maybe 100Gb. Another drive of the same size would be perfectly adequate - wouldn't it?
Heck no!
If you were to back up your main hard drive - and you should, just in case the main one goes belly up - you might gobble up a third of its capacity. And it might stay that way, but then you might realise that you can install programs onto it. Big programs, like the latest Doom and Half Life games. So you might gobble up a bit more, but with the computer you are using now it probably won't ever fill up.
But then there is your next computer. This drive will allow you to access all your old data easily. It is big enough to be usefull for years to come.
I also need to mention the fact that it plugs into a USB port and gets installed by windows XP without you having to do anything. It is solid, quiet and sits edgeways or flat on your desk. It has one button to turn it on or off.
I used to keep all my photos on my computers hard drive, but imagine losing 3 years of photos. I now keep them on two hard drives. Can you afford not to get a backup drive?
At this price, it is simply superb

I've not experienced any problems with this, *touch wood!*. Space is no longer an issue and it's a great way of sharing files between my desktop and laptop, especially my music files. It's a neat and compact bit of kit. Great value for money.

A superb drive, sturdy with a good well made case. Extremely quiet, plug and go, no hassles. Separately powered, so bear that in mind, although it's not a big deal apart from start up and power down of your PC, there is an additional step to close down the disk if your that diligent!. A great buy, good price, I am delighted.
