Album Description

Magic Slim is the greatest living proponent of the intense, electrified, Mississippi-to Chicago blues style that spawned much of the music played by modern blues artists and rockers alike. It’s no wonder that Magic Slim & The Teardrops, considered by many to be "the last real Chicago blues band," have become one of the busiest and best-loved touring units today. This live recording, taped in 2005 at the Sierra Nevada Brewery, showcases Slim’s slashing, vibrato-drenched guitar, mountain-moving vocals and presents an authentic South Side, back-alley excursion into the true blues.

If you enjoy the blues then this is definitely for you. If you aint into the blues or you think you aint - give this a listen and you'll soon have a change of heart!
A great Cd from the big man himself, ideally showcasing his talents for producing some of the very best Chicago style blues. Magic Slim is long overdue the recognition he deserves from a wider audience and this Cd will go a long way towards achieving that.
Also check out the live Dvd release of the same name - this Cd and the Dvd are simply brilliant!

Last of a dying breed of rough,tough exciting bluesmen.Every track is a winner and since it was recorded live front of an enthusiastic audience,the atmosphere is ELECTRIC and the blues SMOKIN'.A high standard of musicianship,with Magic Slims' vocals and guitar work outstanding,Vern Taylor on drums and great guitar work by Jon Mcdonald and his Strat' plus pulsating insistant bass from Chris Biedron.This album should be in EVERY blues fans'collection and is blues MAGIC,his best work since he recorded "BORN ON A BAD SIGN" many years ago,which is EVEN BETTER and is also a "must have" album.Listen to a couple of minutes of this masterpiece and I GUARANTEE that you'll buy it if you're a lover of truly exciting blues music.CAN TRULY BE DESCRIBED AS "MAGIC" THIS IS THE BLUES,AS BLUE AS IT GETS!!!!
