The other night, I went to see A (for the fourth time) supported by Capdown and My Awesome Compilation. "Who???" I hear you cry. Yeah, i'd never heard of them either and was expecting some rubbish local Wolverhampton lot. Suffice to say, this old cynic experienced something that he hasn't experienced in a very long time. The feeling of watching a band with absolutely no preconceptions and being totally blown away. Blown away to the extent that i bought their album the very next day. An album which can never capture the excitement and energy of that gig, but comes pretty darn close. The joy of discovering a new band, especially in a live context simply cannot be matched. My Awesome Compilation deserve to be completely massive and are, as their name suggests, Awesome. Now, I'm off to to bore all my friends to tears with them!

My Awesome Compilation are a hard working, touring band. This, their long awaited debut long player does not disappoint.
Anyone who has heard their e.p ''The View is Amazing'' will be familiar with the format - mid tempo, melodic rock music incorporating large guitars, soaring harmonies, accented with piano and synth.
''ACTIONS'' starts off wonderfully with the huge ''You Need Discipline'' and continues to keep its momentum throughout. The big difference between their two releases is that on this, the tempo is UPPED slightly . . . and to great effect.
Highlights for ME, are the aforementioned first track, lead single ''Put Up A Fight'', ''Set to Go'', ''Ask for Trouble'' and their classic albeit re-recorded version of ''As Always''.
Overall this is a breat album, that succeeds with its achingly simplistic approach to making powerful melodic music. If you manage to catch the band live you'll find they are true to their recorded sound, yet excecuted with a passion and enthusiasm that is a joy to watch.
You'd be forgiven for thinkin My Awesome Compilation are from America, but they're from Leicester! they sneak their accent in the album a touch in places too! Nice one lads.
BUY THIS ALBUM.

I have just got back from seeing one of the best gigs I have ever seen (Alkaline Trio @ London Astoria) and these guys were the support band... before tonight I had never heard of them but after hearing these guys I was hooked. I instantly bought their album from the merch stand and listened to it all the way home from London. Its pretty much faultless.... tenner well spent! Still wise, think a bit of Emo, bit of hardcore but all the right ingrediants to fit right in at an Alkaline Trio concert!
