Although she is now thought of a TV host of shows such as "Blind Date" and "Surprise Surprise", there was a time when Cilla was a pop star and a hell of a great voice.
The 60s was Cil's music heyday and saw her hit the no.1 spot twice in the UK charts with "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and "You're My World" both in 1964. She had a further 15 top 40 hits, 8 of them were top 10 smashes.
This great Cilla compilation includes both of Cilla's chart toppers and 4 more hits, the rest of the album is made up with album highlights and a bonus track of Cilla singing a recently unearthed Italian language version of "Surround Yourself With Sorrow". The highlights are taken from the 4 albums she released in the 60s, all huge best sellers at the time and top 10 entires, "Cilla", "Cilla Sings A Rainbow", "Sheroo" and "Surround Yourself With Cilla". Ms Black without doubt was the greatest, most successful female singer of the 60s decade.
The standout album highlights for me are "One Little Voice", "A Lover's Concerto", "Follow The Path Of The Stars" and "On A Street Called Hope", just listen to her voice, outstanding!
This is Cilla at her belting best, don't let this release pass you by, treat yourself and if you've not heard Cilla sing before then you may be in for a pleasant surprise, i certainly was.

WOW! A real treat for Cilla fans once more! How lucky we all are to have yet another compilation of her biggest hits and some obscure album tracks. Now for only the 1,000,000th time on CD we can all enjoy "Anyone who had a heart," "You're my world," and "Step inside love" over and over and over and over again. Cilla, you're a Queen! Mind you, at least it stops her foisting any new material on an unsuspecting world. Every cloud......

Cilla was unsurpassed in the 60s. Her deep, dark tones & softer, velvet sighs were unrivalled by any other girl singer of that, or any other, period. No-one else could wring such emotion out of a song. She was also one of our most versatile singers, able to do justice to a wide range of genres: just listen to her stonking version of Motown's Dancing In The Street, Black sounding black, then marvel at the ethereal breathiness of Little Pleasure Acre. This CD also includes one of my most favourite Black tracks, Yo-Yo: open throated delivery over a dance beat with pounding drums for the chorus. It's magic! This CD is full of fabulousness, & if you appreciate 60s music, your collection is not complete without this set. Get it!!
