This camera is like a small SLR,but has good handling.Can be used in silent mode for taking pictures of birds with it's big Zoom lens.The Lens is pin sharp(it's a Leica)If possible use a tripod.I have hade some cracking indoor photo's with the flash because of its bigger range.All in all,a very good camera.

This is a very compact camera, yet very well featured. I considered the Canon equivalent, but was swayed by the lower price of the Panasonic and the fact that it comes as standard with a 55mm filter adaptor - an expensive extra on the Canon. Picture quality is superb! I have changed from two SLR cameras to digital because of the cost these days of processing film. The image quality from the Panasonic is virtually that of high quality 35mm film for sensible enlargements. The camera is exceptionally easy to use with a small learning curve, yet all the features one could want at this price. Buy a fast SD card and an extra battery though.

this camera takes very clear pictures under most conditions but if you want to take scenery pictures and want the mountains (for example)to come out clear in the distance,then make sure you turn off the image stabilizer and use the zoom up to about 3X and when you enlarge the picture to fit a 17 inch computer screen its so clear that you allmost think that you are there,but if you dont use the zoom then the picture up close is great but the backround is not perfect !! other then this its a great camera and takes the best pictures that I have seen,and I dont have to use the image stabilizer at all except if I use the zoom above 4X ...
