4.0 out of 5 stars Good, fun game for lovers of Midtown Madness type games, 20 Oct 2005
By A Customer
I initially tried this as a demo some months before its UK release and found it to be a lot of fun, which in turn caused me to buy the game, it reminded me of the old Midtown Madness games and also of the cardboard cutout graphics of 'London Racer'.

Let's get one thing straight, this game isn't cutting edge and the graphics look about 4 or 5 years old by todays standards, but there's a certain attractive charm about them, the golden glow over the city of London adds a magic to it, and the cars although driveable won't pass for your car games of today such as need for speed. Despite this, you can forgive it, it's like a trip back to those days of fun pc car racers before the next generation consoles pushed PC racers aside.

The game consists solely of a career mode, no quick race or time trials, although there is a multiplayer. You start out as a cabbie who gets into the street racing scene around London, and a 'contact' will invite you to various races, which are all checkpoint type racers, with the occasional drag race. Because there's no time trials at first you don't know the routes, but after a while it gets easier and you can start to unlock the rest of the contacts and their races, overall it isn't a massive game and doesn't take long to complete, but if this is your kind of thing it would be worth purchasing, I got it on release day at a bargain price and it's been worth the purchase.
