1.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Gauntlet fan - not of this though, 23 May 2006

Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
After playing this for 20 minutes I decided I liked this game - the graphics look great, the story seemed cool and I liked the new combos and moves you could pull off.

This wore off quickly and I realised what a depressing waste of money this is.

I look back to the last gauntlet game - Dark Legacy and remember:

1) Loads of levels
2) Multitude of different enemies
3) Awesome bosses
4) Loads of power ups to collect and buy
5) Piles of different items to collect (To open levels and help against the bosses)
6) Cool moves that you can pull off with your team mates.
7) A big selection of different characters
8) It was a big challenge - it was fun

This game has none of this. There are a pitiful amount of levels - each as easy as the last. After you have bought a limited selection of extra moves, there is nothing to collect (You just accumulate gold with nothing to spend it on). There are only about 15 different enemies, the bosses look the same and offer only a brief challenge. There are only 4 characters now as well.

The only good part of the game was the end boss which we completed first time.

In all the game took less than 5 hours for me and my girlfriend to complete.

The game is shallow and has no replay value (We got 100% and we didn't even try).

I hope you won't glaze over this review and read something more positive because I don't want other people to be ripped off like we were. This is the worst game I've played in a long time, and it hurts me to say that because we are big Gauntlet fans.

WASTE OF MONEY - ignore this at your own risk.

2.0 out of 5 stars duh, 28 Jun 2006
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
i can't imagine having played this as a 1 person game. as shown by the title there are 7 sorrows. 7 bosses. none of which stood as a test of skill nor judgement. just hit it and see. it's a very short game, it could be completed in a day easily. and no, not a gamer day, a regular player. a few hours of gameplay - that's all. it's not that the charectors don't react well, they certainly do, it's just that they are simply barraged by mindless enemies. also, if you play as the warrior it is far too simple to destroy them - the class is too powerful compared to the others. the harder difficulty levels don't pose any more of a challenge - or at least, not if you would like an interesting challenge rather than a no brainer "they hit harder and have more hp. that's all. hmm.". If you can rent it, then by all means do and play it with a friend - it was certainly a good laugh and a short but enjoyable experience as that - but don't buy it, and don't expect a fulfilling long game, and certainly not as a 1 player.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, 5 April 2006
By A Customer
I was very excited about this game, and started playing immediately upon arrival. However 4 hours later I had finished it completely, there were no secrets to discover, no extra characters to unlock, no new missions unlocked once the game was over, and basically I had no urge to play the game again.

Im not sure if the online aspect would be any different as we dont have the internet facililty.

Killed a few hours enjoyably but absolutely little or no replayability.
