LMA IS HERE, 25 Oct 2005
For those people who prefer to organise and manage football teams rather than play alongside them (FIFA 06 PRo Evo etc.), then look at this the most powerful edition of LMA Manager is going to be released on the 18th November 2005Aside from the obvious seasonal variations, a new and improved game and database engine has been implemented to make the game much more powerful than before (More teams more leagues more players More everything). In addition, a hugely realistic transfer market system has been developed, providing improved transfer market AI that enables more complex contract negotiations, greater personality from the CPU controlled managers and advanced decision-making by players. So don't expect to be able to buy any other manager's star player and key goal scorer just by offering a cash amount above their actually worth (this means that its like the real world offer thierry henry £20,000 contract he wont come no matter if you bought him for 120 mil). In fact, expect to have to go deep into contract clauses and staggered payment options and many other brutally taxing areas of discussion before being able to get your own way. Still, it's not all statistics and budget calculations though. LMA Manager prides itself on its visually rewarding match experience (you can watch the match in full glory), which has been further improved, offering more emotional animations, such as shouting, frustration, jostling and of course 'gesturing'. The 3D match pretty much defines what LMA Manager is all about letting the manager make his decisions based on what he sees players actually doing... rather than continually looking at a page of stats. So look forward to better graphics more stats and loads more features.

Ruddy Transfer System!!!!!, 26 Jul 2006
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
I love the LMA series of games, I own including this one 4 of them. I have read a lot of reviews about this game and thought, it would be a challenge to try this one as I had become a littel bored with 2005 because my Arsenal team had becaome so good, that no-one could beat me and i was detroying teams like Man Utd, AC Milan etc. 6-0.
I took into account what people were saying about the trtansfer system, so gave it a go, but in my first season I fou8nd no issues in buying a few players. I was wondering what the fuss was about?
Is the game too hard and you can't win anything? Well, no. I won all the english trophies in my first season as Aresenal, but lost in the semis of the European Cup to Man Utd. So far, I can not see what the fuss is all about.
Season 2 and my present season mind you. Now the frustration sstarts to occur. I managed to attain Saviola on a free and Papa Sarr also, but can I buy anyone, nope! It's not that they don't want to come to my club, it's what has been mentioned already in reviews, that ruddy board of director of the selling club not allowing him to leave. What frustrates me the most is that you get the sound of a pen signing a contract, which to me means I have bought the player; fantastic, but nooooo, thats not the case, the board messege appears the bext day saying you can't have him.
Thats not the worst of it, the players decrease in money rapidly, even though they are playing like demons. Henry starts at 40m, I'm now near the end of my second season, and he's now only worth 24m? wtf if that all about. Ashley Cole starts at 10m, within the first 2 months of the first season he dropped in price by 2m, why? WHY?
I'm still in all competitions and have not lost a game yet in the second season, but if that be the case, why can I not buy anyone.
And yes, why does no-one try buying your players? I have managed to sell 2 players, but thats it! I was lucky one of my players retired otherwise I'd be seriouly struggling to bring anyone in.
Stats seem to disappear rather than increase, oh the frustration, of it all.
The game though overall is fantastic, but the fun factor to this game is virtually none existent, how can you have fun if the game won't let you do anything you want? Where's the fun in that. A computer game is there for entertainment first, realism second, but Codemasters have got this the wrong way around. Also, it's not really that realistic either, in real life, it's easier to buy players than on this game, and player peak at the ages 28/29, not 24/25, so where did they get that from?
I might resort back to my 2005 version for the fun factor and come back to this one for the seriousness of the game.
Of all the reviews, only one of the glitches people have mentioned doesn't fit, and that is the game is too hard to win anything. When you win rthe Charity Shield, League Cup, FA Cup and Premier League in the first season, I can't see how this game is too hard.

LMA 2006 - Buy, Buy? No, Bye, Bye, 11 May 2006
Will someone from Codemasters please explain the point of this game to me? I've played LMA for several years with great enjoyment and, for me, the real pleasure came from managing finances to afford better players for your squad and then watching them bring in the results. Not anymore! It's almost impossible to buy anyone, certainly not the players you really want. Other clubs want extortionate fees before they'll sell. Some players refuse to join - "it's too much of a step down" - when you finished above their team last season. When they do agree you get a message from the directors of their club who say he is "too valuable to let go".
If that's not frustrating enough, imagine how you will feel when they sell him a week later to a club who payed less for him than you were going to!!!
I'm not finished. I've even been refused players who were on the transfer list!!! I've never been so annoyed and perplexed with a game and I really feel like selling it. My advice? if you just want to manage a team and hope for the best, go ahead. If you think you will become frustrated at not being able to improve your squad with the players you want, forget it
Oh, and it takes forever to load screens
