I had never heard anything about this game when I saw it, and read up a few of the reviews for it on the USA Amazon site, they read favourably and I decided to give it a go, being a fan of the 'FORD Racing' series by another company, I thought this might be worth a look.

Despite the budget price that sometimes can make you think it's a duffer, this game is pretty good, the graphics are very good, the frame rate silky smooth and the racing is fast, the cars arcade physics are pretty good too, although this isn't in the same class as Burnout, it drives well, the game is made up of various modes to complete to unlock all the tracks and cars, there are 11 tracks in 7 US cities, and their reverse versions make up 22 tracks, and there are 40 cars, most of the game is actually pretty easy to complete, and then there are some really tough time trials, cone challenges at the end to get the last few cars.

But what racing games are about is racing, not unlocking things, this is what seemingly most if not all game designers miss these days, we buy your games to race! and if the racing isn't there then your missing the point, this game doesn't have any championships where you can race all the tracks for points and try and beat the ai overall, you just race to unlock things or race single races, and what's unfortunate is that the ai is actually too easy to beat, there is no difficulty level in the game and it seems no matter what car you choose, even the car with the lowest stats in the game, it's still too easy to win, the only time you don't win is if you crash into traffic on the last lap and then you can't catch up in time, had they made the ai more difficult to beat and added a championship it would have made this game pretty much perfect.

Despite this, this is a good enjoyable racer, with some lovely tracks, the San Fransico track is great fun with its jumps, fast straights and power slides, if you enjoy fun arcade racers with good track design but don't expect GT4 type depth then you might want to give it a go.
