Oceansize are one of the best bands in the world at the moment and this, their new single, has been eagerly awaited as it's the first clue as to what the new album will sound like.
On first listen 'Heaven Alive' sounds weaker than other Oceansize music, but the more you hear it the more it grows on you, and once you've heard it played live you realise what a good song it is. It has a deeply edgy rhythm that bursts into a lovely chorus.
I B/O/W is a nice little instrumental, probably a little closer to normal Oceansize music than the single itself.
If you haven't heard the band before then don't start here - get Efflouresce or Music for Nurses to fully appreciate them. If you are a fan then take this as an IOU from the band, to hold until the new album comes out.
