5.0 out of 5 stars You're looking at a Scottish Classic Series, 14 Sep 2005
By Craig R. Hodge "horrible_hodge" (Penicuik Scotland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I personally have to say why only 6 shows in a series? This has to be one of the finest comedies to come out of Scotland in many a year.

Like any show it has developed over the 4 series. Giving more scope for the supporting characters to develop. Which all adds to a slicker more rounded experience. You get to know them all well; it also means the story lines can expand on many levels. There are two or three small stories going on in the background in each episode. So you get a sense of a real day happenings in Craiglang.

Episodes
1.Kill Wullie - A new waitress at the local cafe has the lads droolin'. She's a big Honey as the lads would say. But alas she's fallen for auld Wullie. Isa thinks she's only after one thing. Is she right?
2. Wireless - Jack & Victor become local hospital radio DJ's. As Tam the resident DJ has scrounged a free holiday. With Winston, as a helper, roaming the wards for requests. Navid ends up in hospital with, well water works troubles (hilarious!!)But can Winston get a request heard in time? Will Winston make it? Watch & see.
3. Dial a Bus - The lads have found a cheap means of transport to the Clansman. But the helpful happy driver is not all he seems. They end up kidnapped in the middle of nowhere. Meantime Bobby the bar man has a sabbatical, & Winston pulls a fast one. It's free drinks all round for the Clansman regulars.
4. The Ring - Tam the tight fist decides to marry Frances the librarian. But who's going to be the best man? And will he buy a new ring? Jack does a little trick with the ring with hilarious consequences.
5. Hatch - Jack's daughter has given him Sky TV as a present. So a brilliant idea of a hatch between Jack & Victor's house is conceived. Victor turns into a right couch potato, resulting in a boil on his bum. Isa sees something quite innocent & the outcome is just downright side splitting.
6. Who's the Daddy? - The Clansman is getting knocked down to make way for new housing. But the developer could just be Winston's son. Or even Jack & Victor's! But in the end it's Isa who works it all out.

All in all a fantastic series, the characters are loveable larger than life & we all know someone like them. Even my English girlfriend likes Still Game & laughs along with me. Her words "why haven't they shown it down south before?" I can honestly say I love this show & never tire of watching it. But I have to agree with a previous reviewer. The title music is terrible! Bring back the old tune.

5.0 out of 5 stars There Back!, 13 Jun 2006
By Andrew Kerr (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Jack and Victor are back and better than ever in Still Game. This forth series is simply stunning and side-splittingly funny. I wasn't sure that they could improve on the previous season but they did...they really did. Apart from the new theme tune, which I don't like, this is truly amazing. I liked the sixth episode the best and I don't think I have ever laughed so much in my life. I wish they would add more episodes into each series because I can't get enough of the old lads and Isa and Navide, and Wiston and.... well I guess you get the idea.
