3.0 out of 5 stars A bit Disappointed, 6 Aug 2005
By A Customer
Sugar Rush, the Channel 4 hit show about unrequited teen lesbian love has had me gripped so of course when the soundtrack was released I went straight out and bought it. I was disappointed by what I heard, or what I didn't hear to be exact. There are a few key tracks missing from the CD, such as :

The Faders 'You Know you Should'
M83 'Teen Angst'
Nouvelle Vague 'Love will tear us apart'
Frou Frou 'Let Go'
Blue States 'Your Girl'

Thats just a few great songs not included on the soundtrack. Saying that there are a few good tracks on the CD such as :

Emiliana Torrini 'Today has been O.K' (This is played in the toilets on episode 1)

Bushes, the Weekend and Bingo Bango are all great dance tracks whilst the black velvets, pulp and Jim Noir offer a more rocky side to Sugar Rush. The CD does have something for everyone, and fans of the T.V show should like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars for all who loved the tv series..., 3 May 2006
The music used in sugar rush is fantastic, it perfects what is an amazing series. The music on here spans every emotion, and contains every genre to match. Songs like Today has been OK are more relaxed and perfect to just zone out to, but there are more upbeat tracks to satisfy every need. The one reason I can't give this 5 stars? It's missing what I consider to be the most relevant track of the entire series. It's the one played very often towards the end of the series, including the scene after Kim and Sugar have just slept together. The track is called Castaway by Barrie Gledden, the downside is it hasn't been released yet so if you want it you'll have to go to the artist and ask for a copy of it to be sent to you via email. Apart from this, the soundtrack is amazing and definetely comes recommended by me and other sugar rush addicts!

4.0 out of 5 stars Yet another soundtrack missing out on key songs, 6 Sep 2005
By A Customer
Sugar Rush is possibly one of the best teen drama series to ever air on channel 4, and what do they go and do; they make a mess of it. Little advertisement, the dvd doesn't contain all the original songs (most noticably the wonderfully used 'Coldplay - Don't Panic' which left me and others in tears at the end of that episode), and the soundtrack doesn't even contain many of the key songs used in the series. There were 97 songs used in the series and many more than once, how come only 19 of these songs appear on the soundtrack, and these aren't even the memorable songs, like 'Nouvelle Vague - In A Manner Of Speaking'. They didn't even have the trailer song (M83 - Teen Angst) or the title song (Blondie - One Way or Another).
Right, rant over, although the soundtrack was a disappointment of what it could have been, it alone as a soundtrack is great. It contains a good variety of all different genres and manages to appeal to a lot of people. I suggest buy this, buy Nouvelle Vague's debut (6 of her songs were used), and buy an 80's collection, then you should be left with the ultimate Sugar Rush soundtrack - and it should save you having to search high and low for all 97 songs like I've had to do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice soundtrack but missing the most important song!
It has a lot of songs you hear (mostly series 1) from Sugar Rush. BUT the most known, most important song is missing - Blondie's One Way Or Another - the theme what makes Sugar... Read more
