5.0 out of 5 stars Who Needs a Manual?, 23 Oct 2005
By A Customer
Love it. Having owned 3 Canon Ixus cameras before, I always found them to be 'user-hostile'. Want to change ISO setting, white balance etc? - Where did I put that manual? I found that I just left the camera/s on automatic and hoped for the best.

The casio is superbly easy to use and I find I often change settings for each individual shot. I read the manual when I first got it and have not needed to refer to it since.

The 'Best Shot' modes give over 30 pre-set shooting settings such as 'Portrait' or 'Scenery'. These are accessed by a dedicated button rather than buried in a menu somewhere.

The size is amazing - I may be wrong, but I don't think there is a smaller quality digital camera on the market.

The build quality is superb. I accidentally knocked mine from a 6 foot high shelf on to a hard wood floor and it seems to have survived perfectly. Don't try that at home!

I wouldn't rave about the picture quality. It is perfectly fine, but don't expect DSLR results.

2.0 out of 5 stars Design Fault, 5 Feb 2006
By A Customer
I bought this camera and was very impressed with it for a few weeks, then it refused to focus properly and reported "LENS ERROR".

Doing a search on Google, it becomes obvious that this is a very common problem with the camera and occurs if the camera is turned on by mistake whilst within its case (which is very easy to do, as the on/off button is on the top of the camera). This in turn wears out the lens motor and renders the camera useless.

So in summary - great little camera, but with a very nasty design fault that needs sorting out pronto.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Ultra-Compact, 13 Feb 2006
By S. Patel (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
My Basic Search Criteria for a Camera were :
-Shud be able to fit in a Pocket(This category is called Ultra Compact)
-Shud be at least 5 Mega Pixels
-Battery Life is High priority
-Nice Big LCD Screen
-Shud be around 200 Pounds

And this camera fulfills them all - I got it on Friday and was clicking happily on the weekend - Easy to Use and Looks sexy. Worth the price, though Casio has come up with a 6 Mega Pixel one now , which will always be the case these days(only when you go ahead and buy something , they will release an upgrade the next day).

All in all, a Happy Customer
