5.0 out of 5 stars The Future..., 6 Aug 2005

(REAL NAME)
I don't usually go in for new bands, but these guys are something completely different. I got their EP yesterday and i am as yet incapable of putting it down. I am a big Pixies fan and Fear of Music definately has hints of Frank Black/Black Francis in it. The waltz sounds like Mr Grieves with it's creepy fairground tune. There has also got to be a bit of Muse and Radiohead creeping in. Not that that's a bad thing :) Anyhow - BUY IT............!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very promising debut, 2 Feb 2006
By Matt Gibson (Liverpool, UK) - See all my reviews
Considering how young the people in the band are this is an amazing CD. Putting that aside, what you get is a few catchy songs influenced quite heavily by Muse and Radiohead, but with lyrical wit that both Bellamy and Yorke lacked at this point in their careers. "Skin & Bones" in particuar is a brilliant song lyrically, seeming to deal with self-image and anorexia ("and now you look the way you think the world should/the repulsive kind of beautiful/cos people love it when there's less of/and people love it when there's nothing left of you").

"The Creeps" is my own personal favourite, but there isn't a dud on the whole EP. Well worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Manchester does it again, 9 Aug 2005
Managed to get hold of an early copy of this EP & left it in the car for 3 days listening to it solidly. Utterly superb stuff from this young band. Buy it & enjoy the next big sound from the North West. Roll on a full album....

3.0 out of 5 stars Competent but derivative.
It's well played, well sung and fairly well produced but, as others have mentioned it's extremely derivative of both Muse and Radiohead, almost to the point of pastiche - at times... Read more
