4.0 out of 5 stars good quality and simple to use, 20 Jan 2006
this camera is very good quality, and simple to use and i would definatley reccomed it to all. one particularly good point, is that the video has sound, many cameras of a similar price have muted videos, which are useless, unless you want to film scenery or something. also check out the c340, it is 5mp, and does not cost much more.

This camera is very easy to use (the easiest i've ever tried actually). Takes good snapshots. No problem with battery life . Good buy for basic snapshots and decent quality photos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep It Simple, Stupid, 12 Aug 2006
By bugrit (North Yorks) - See all my reviews
I endorse everything that others have already said about the Kodak C330. It's a little cracker and the freebie Lowepro is an ideal accessory. I wasn't sure what memory card to get but I plumped for a Bytestore 512MB H-S SD Card and it works a treat. The C330 reports that it has room for more than 600 best-res pics!

Letting the camera format the card was straightfoward and I took a few snaps without difficulty. However, not everything turned out to be as easy. After I let the EasyShare Software installer do its own thing, I followed the instructions for connecting the C330 to my computer. Then, when I switched the camera on, I was pleased to see the EasyShare program kick into life. Unfortunately, that's when the trouble started. As soon as I tried to upload pics to my "Test" folder, the software promptly reported that it was 33% through its search for duplicates and there it stayed. Sadly, it was no longer responding, so I switched off the C330 to see what would happen and XP fell over - yep, right back to cold boot! It's the one and only time that XP has ever been so upset that it had to resort to closing down the machine, so nice one, EasyShare! After that, XP refused point-blank to have any more to do with the C330 and who could blame it?

Anyway, to cut a very long story a bit shorter, I eventually did a system restore and then I decided to KISS - see review title if you are unfamiliar with this acronym. If you already have (or don't want) photo archiving and album viewing facilities and all you really need is a means of getting USB access to the camera's memory, here is what you could do:

Run Setup from the Kodak EasyShare CD and elect to do a Custom Install. Then set the "Install" option for the first item only - Kodak CAMERA CONNECTION SOFTWARE. Set all other components to "Not Installed" and complete setup. After that, whenever you connect the C330 to a USB port on your computer, the camera will pop up as the next free letter in your list of drives as soon as you switch it on. It's like plugging in a USB pen drive. You access the C330's memory (or its card's memory) just like you would any other flash drive. If you turn the C330 off, the temporary drive disappears off your machine and you can disconnect. Clean and simple, just like the C330!
