Dynasty Warriors 5 is a brilliant game, it is certainly an improvement on its predecesors. For those who dont know, Dynasty Warriors is a hack and slash game set in 2nd century China. It features huge battles and gripping storylines. In this release of the series the game has changed quite a bit, instead of improving on four, keoi appear to have go back to DW 3 and started working again from there, combining several ideas, such as tactial base capture from DW Empires, a spin off game, and ideas from the Kessen series, a stratagy game running almost in tandem with this series. There are fewer cut scenes in this game, but that does not mean less of a story, each chacracter describes the plot and situation before each battle, revealing their emotions and feelings, and subtley revealing what could be to come. The game also has much larger draw distances and more men on screen, this are noticable improvements, however there is a problem of men appearing out of no where, but this small annoyance is no hinderance to the game. The downsides of this game are the removal of create a warrior, the cut down on cutscnes and finally the soft reset button combination does not seem to work, meaning you must reset your console to play a different campaign. (Dont worry, the game loads a lot faster now!) If you fancy something a little more tactical then I reccomend the Kessen series or Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. If you want some fighting action and/or something more challenging then i reccomend Wars and Warriors Joan of Arc This game is worth the money, buy it now!!
