2.0 out of 5 stars More like Conference Manager, 1 Sep 2005

Im a big fan of football managing games and was pleased to see a new working of the old Premier Manager series. This year we have had another reworking in the almost flawless Football Manager 2005 which was awesome. This revamp though is very poor. The game is definately designed for the console platform and the PC port is no different in its controls and looks, sometimes you feel hindered using the mouse!. The depth of the game is good in some areas, the fact you can tweak alot of things to do with finance and sponsors etc is good but that doesnt make a good game. The menus and boring and lack detail on all levels, meaning moving between them is troublesome and annoying. The depth of information for players and clubs is average, they take the most important bits of info and display that only, nothing more, which is a little annoying as other games will throw every single bit of info you want and could possibly need, this doesnt. The game seems too unbalanced and rushed, its more like an attempt at cashing in on the consoles than realy been a contender for the king of football managing games, especially on the PC. In the end it will satisfy console lovers but if your thinking about this PC version id avoid it and wait till november for Football Manager 2006.

3.0 out of 5 stars I agree, 19 Sep 2005

The previous review pretty much sums up this game but in order to really see how good this game it needs to be compared to its previous versions:

Its basically 2004 - 2005 season without the bugs (so far)so its better than 2003-2004 which was terrible. Not as good as 2002-2003 which was a very good game just unplayable after season 2 due to bugs.

This latest edition brings my total amount of Premier manager titles to 8 and I have finally given up the ghost on Zoo and its abilities to re-light the Gremlin fire.

Regardless of what they offer next time, I wont be buying.
