Sublime playing of this great composer, 20 Sep 2005
This is a very welcome re-release of Scott Ross's recordings of the complete Scarlatti sonatas. Scarlatti's music is often overshadowed by that of his better known contemporaries, especially J S Bach and Handel. This is a great shame as his music is so much more forward-looking and exciting. The music is given great warmth and vitality by Ross's sublime playing. The recordings and accompanying booklet are of excellent quality. However, one note of caution is worthwhile. The CDs have a crude copy protection system that prevents them from working in most PC-based home entertainment centres, many car audio systems and many personal CD players. If, like me, you enjoy listening in the car,or whilst travelling, this set might not be for you.

A must., 6 Oct 2007
Do you think that just because you can't copy the cds you can rate this as only 3 stars? You need to lack something to do so.
This is just the only version of Scarlatti's works you need to own. You could do without Belder's good but not good enough version, and the same could apply to Lester's recordings.
This is a must by the best harpsichord player in the last 30 years.
A must.
