    When I was looking for a new digital camera I set myself an upper limit of £150. For my money I expected at least 4 megapixels, a reasonable optically zoom, an ascetically pleasing case and a reasonable size screen to view my pictures. What the Pentax S55 gives me is exactly that, nothing overtly flashy or over the top but simple to use technology, what more could I ask for?

    Well as it happens not a lot, possible better battery consumption (when will people adopt the mobile phone style chargeable battery?) but other than that it is about spot on. This really is excellent value for money.

    The ACD software you get with the camera to organise your photos, is exactly what you would expect, it manages you pictures well, or to be honest is an extension of your file explorer but does the job. Overall an excellent little camera.
