This is a well balanced selection of music from the Standalone Complex. 'Origa' (vocalist of the title song) features on several tracks and that's a good thing, her Russian vocals add an ethereal and yet slightly menacing air to the proceedings. Yoko Kanno's influence is obvious because there is one bebop jazz style track that could have been lifted straight out of Spike and the crew's adventures (good!). Recommended. Note that buyers of the region 1 special edition of the GITS SAC Gig 2 Vol 1 DVD (whew!) get this for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Reasons to Like Yoko Kanno, 29 Jan 2006
A well rounded album which at once feels a little different to usual Yoko Kanno fare & completely familiar, if you liked GiTS OST 1, or the Cowboy Bebop OST you will not be disappointed, in fact, unless you like Rap & hip Hop, you'll probably like this.
Its great to hear a bit more Jazz as well, as has been said before, very reminiscent of Cowboy Bebop & thats only a good thing, several tracks will just have you tapping your feet from the word go.
