Amazon.co.uk Review
Joy Zipper, the New York duo-cum-couple Vincent Cafiso and Tabitha Tindale, have had no problem over the years with veering from sleazy, psychedelic, My Bloody Valentine-esque songs to the kind of woozy material that wouldnt be out of place on a Belle & Sebastian album.
The Heartlight Set, their third long player, allegedly started life as a Country & Western project, though the boisterous hand-claps and plangent guitar of opener "Go Tell The World" suggests otherwise. By the bands own admission, this track is out of character; its on songs like "Thoughts A Waste of Time" and "Dreams I Had" that they return us to their more familiar languid dreamworld. Some bohemian themes are addressed too, notably on "For Lennys Own Pleasure" their fantastic tribute to Lenny Bruce - while "Anything You Sent" and the Donavan-esque "Youve Changed" coruscate with subtle brilliance. Candid and heartfelt,
The Heartlight Set is a stellar example of how to make the influences of the past merge seamlessly with the more relevant sounds of the present.

Product Description
The Heartlight Set is the sound of Joy Zipper fulfilling their promise. It is the record of which we always knew they were capable, but feared they might never get to. The work of two people not only right inside the idea of what they are trying to do, but finally with the artistic and technical means to do it, and do it superlatively.
The Heartlight Set is a rocking triumph from a pairing whose time has decidedly come.
