great sci-fi show similar to reboot, 15 Aug 2005
i caught war planets: shadow raiders a few years ago when it aired on satellite. it is a very similar styled show to that of reboot - a computer generated series that also had a popular toyline aswell, although i don't know much about that.tekla is the sole survivor of her homeworld, destroyed by a relentless enemy called the beast, who have a huge weapon called the beast planet that can literally consume an entire planet. she travels to the next star system to warn the worlds there of the beast threat. the situation is difficult however as the four worlds, fire, bone, rock and ice are all at war with one-another, and tekla arrives when rock is in battle with ice. as the beast attack, the two leaders of each side, graveheart (rock) and kryos (ice) reluctantly join forces to help tekla fight back the beast. and so the story begins. this first season concentrates on the unification of the waring planets, eventually leading to several revelations and secrets coming into the open. we meet many more fantastic characters, including king mantle (the ruler of planet rock), jade (a good friend of graveheart), zera (daughter of kryos), pyrus (the young leader of planet fire) and femur (the unlikely ruler of planet bone). the second season is just as strong (also available on dvd), and for the cheap asking price, i can't recommend this great series enough.
