I bought a Class 1 bluetooth as I knew I wanted to operate at over 10m and in any case inside a house you need the range. The software was awful to get going but file transfer from my handheld eventually worked OK, whilst I was sat at the PC screen. As soon as I tried to move away the trouble started, with the link dropping out extremely quickly. I was so annoyed I set up the PC in a corridor and after 8 paces (about 7m) the link fell over - the test was creation of a new folder, so it wasn't data intensive!

I sent it back and got a refund, which I put towards the Sitecom CN502 which is excellent! Now I have bluetooth connection throughout the house and into the garden. I haven't bothered to test the straight line range as it's good enough for all I want.

Save yourself the trouble of sending this junk back for a refund - don't buy it!

Works perfectly with my desktop computers for transferring files to/from mobile and PDA... No probs at all!! I think it came with a CD and manual which I have not (and probably never will) use. Plug n play at it's easiest with this blutooth device!!! AND GREAT RANGE TOO!! (running windows xp SP2 home/proff on all sytems). ***Best prices available***

I tried to use adapter this with my motorola hs820 headset (and skype). The pairing went ok, and it connected successfully, but the headset then starts giving the "tag not recognised" sound. Is this a problem with bluetooth v1.2 vs 1.1?? The adapter claims to be compatible with all v1.1 devices, but this does not seem to be true.

I have read on other sites that people have successfully used their belkin v1.1 adapter with an hs820 headset. I would avoid this v1.2 adapter if you are going to use it with a headset.
