5.0 out of 5 stars The correct soundtrack, 20 Mar 2006
By A Customer
If you are looking for the actual soundtrack to the film including the background music, this is the cd that you should buy. The other one actually has very little of the film soundtrack on it and you'll be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars emotive, sensational tracks, 13 Aug 2006
By LD5 "laooo" (Gloucestershire, England) - See all my reviews
if you were moved at all by the film 'Crash', then i suspect most of it had to do with the stunning music compositions.

whilst it's easy to pick out 'A Really Good Cloak' as an example of emotive music, for me, the one that sends shivers is 'Flames' - absolutely stunning.

Mark Isham has a varied soundtrack compositional history, and i personally think this is his best work, varied and touching, this deserves to be in your record collection.

the only star loss is due to the bizarre choice to whack on stereophonics at the end - i don't know if this was contractual, or a choice to try and make the album more comercial, and give listeners an identity point, but it's completely out of place on this album and seems like an afterthought gone wrong... this will however only bug you if you put the album on repeat - spot the standout track!

by the way, if anyone has a translation of 'flames', i would be most grateful to see it...!

5.0 out of 5 stars For that mellow moment, 3 May 2006
By Mr. P. J. Murphy "Starshade" (Liverpool) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a beautifully done soundtrack - I can only speak for myself, but I found it had many levels : Dark, Mysterious, Contemplative.

It has inspired me to seek out the film - which is unusual for me - I have usually seen the film - thought "great soundtrack" and then followed up.

It does remind me of the Solaris soundtrack (George CLooney re-make) - which I also highly reccomend.

This is a brave score. It's contemplative, haunting and has tracks of unusually long duration. But Mark Isham has succeeded in producing the perfect accompaniment to one of the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A journey of thought and emotion
This soundtrack is more than the music from a film. I mean, the film in itself is more than a film, it's a thought provoking and soul touching story. Read more
