we bought this last christmas, full of excitement at being able to swing our light sabers about and zap everyone on the screen. Unfortunately it drove us bonkers!! the light saber did not do as it was supposesd to and you were left whizzing it about to get through the levels. we all suffered wrist sprains!!! however, we phoned up hasbro who were extremely accomodating and refunded us the price of the toy. funnily enough they had had alot of them returned. So save your money and just play light saber battles in the real world and not on the telly!!

I felt that I had to counter the only other review (one star). This game is great. The graphics are primitive by current standards but the game play is spot on. My 4 year old and 6 year old have become obsessed by it. On his first encounter with Darth Maul the eldest hurled the light sabre to the floor and ran screaming from the room. Now he blocks and slashes with swagger. Its as close to living out the movies as they will get. The detection of the light sabre movement works fine. Its as much fun to watch as it is to play. Its social and provides an aerobic workout on wet days when we can't get outside.

As it says, plug it in, switch it on and your'e ready to play. We experienced no calibration problems and found the set up very easy. The game is not so easy (at least for me; my 6 year old son is far better than me!). The main unit looks like the training droids from the film (remember Luke training on board the Milennium Falcon?) and the only controller is a short light sabre. The game teaches you special moves in an attempt to develop your skills and you face friendly trainers such as Obi Wan, Qui Gonn, Mace Widu etc. as well as battling enemies such as Darth Maul and Darth Vader etc. The graphics are fairly primitive but with the novel controler, film based gameplay and recognisable characters this game is good fun and worth getting for all the family. A word of warning though; stay well clear of the person playing the game and clear a big space in your room... the sabre hurts when its hits you and ornaments can go flying!
