4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Introduction, 23 May 2008
By Lab Rat (Bicester, England) - See all my reviews
I blame this album for launching a spending spree into the Mr. Glass back catalogue. Before listening to this work I had ventured as far as the Qatsi series but no further.

Many of the usual themes and repititions are toned down to make way for more ethnic instruments. I found it a little more subtle and far more instantly accessible than many of his other pieces and realized there was more to the composer than I had first thought. Perhaps this is as close to lounge music as Mr. Glass gets - which could isolate some, I guess.

I don't think this is the best of his works that I have sampled so far (see Solo Piano) but it is a very worthy addition. Perhaps it's best suited to those who want to have a taster of Philip Glass' music without throwing themselves into the proverbial deep-end.

2.0 out of 5 stars okay but unmemorable, 21 April 2008
By N. Frary "apachenf" - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm afraid I find this rather bland and just a little bit cliched - I've even delete it from my ipod as it seemed pointless to store something I don't think I'll listen to again.
Shame as I really like Philip Glass.
