wow, had this cd since it came out but after listening to it about 100 times it deserves to be mentioned. its balls heavy, riffs gelore and an angry raw, heavy production to boot. tons of napalm influences, this was their best album in their short lived career. buy this idf you know whats good for ya!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great, 26 Jun 2009
By Chopper (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
While the music is still as ridiculously heavy as ever, it appears to have have less of a sludge influence than the preceeding albums, and more in the way of speedy grind. There's also a noticeable increase in mangled guitar solos from previous albums.

There is NO NEED for Mistress to suddenly chuck in comedic Bruce Dickinson-esque warbling on "Static" which ruins a perfectly good song. "Whiskey Tastes Better" also features the same horrible, helium-induced vocals. I know they don't take things entirely seriously, but even so, NO NEED.

"Talking to God (On a Microphone made of Steel)" is a thumping track and the hidden, untitled track which follows "Shovel" is one of the most downright anti-social, nasty tracks I've ever heard. This is primarily because the wildly-OTT vocals are screamed with such genuine venom. The last line of this 90-second screechfest is a perfect way to close an album.

All in all this is a solid album, one for extremists, but one that doesn't quite reach the peaks of their previous works.
