Now I remember why I got so emotional at the cinema.

Usually, every year, a few scores would come along that would totally grab me and mess up my life and my schedules. This year, however, I waited and waited - and no one seems to have done something really good.

And then I received this one.

Thomas Newman has always been good at creating emotional music like this. And he's never been more effective in creating tender, poignant music to accompany the screen - and boy did it work. Simple scenes, like Mae preparing her husband for the final match, or the feeling of a thousand gaping mouths as everyone begin to stand up in complete awe as the final round proceeds - Newman scored everything so well, and the music reflects and amplifies each and every scene. I couldn't stop the tears from flowing out. That literally has not happened in years.

Listening to it now is ... wow.

Get it.
